Rug Binding & Finishing Options

EE Binding Options – Master Series, Teff, Belden & Cotton Rugs

• Rug is cut to length once it arrives in CT and binding is sewn across the top and bottom ends (Widths) of the rug.
• The 2 side edges (Lengths) will show the woven selvedge finish.
• We recommend a ½” binding width, but this can be done in ½”, 1” and 1.5” widths.
• The rug will look the same on both sides when the rug is flipped seasonally.
• The finished length is completely controllable, the finished width will have a tolerance of 3” – 4”
(The finished length of some grid patterns will have a tolerance of ½ of the pattern repeat)

• Rug is ordered slightly larger and is cut to size once it arrives in CT, with binding sewn around all 4 sides of the rug.
• We recommend a 1” hem width, but this can be done in .5”, 1”, and 1.5” binding widths.
• Rug binding will look the same when the rug is flipped
• Finished rug size is completely controllable. (The finished length of some grid patterns will have a tolerance of ½ of the pattern repeat)
• For hearth cutouts and shaped rugs, binding width must be 1” to ensure a clean inside mitered corner.

• Rug is cut to length once it arrives in CT and binding is sewn on the back of the top and bottom ends (Widths) of the rug.
The 2 side edges (Lengths) will show the woven selvedge finish.
• Rug is still technically reversible, but the binding will show if the rug is flipped. The desired face of the client’s control
sample should be marked, since most rugs are reversible, but the pattern or color placement can vary slightly on each side.
• Finished length is completely controllable, finished width will have a tolerance of 3”- 4”. (The finished length of some grid patterns will have a tolerance of ½ of the pattern repeat)
• Rug hem can be un-done and flipped by a trained seamstress if needed in the future if the homeowner would like to flip
the rug
